Amatica sponsors Merseyside Innovation Awards 2004
The 2004 Merseyside Innovation Awards took place at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Liverpool on the 1st July. The awards, now in their ninth year, aim to recognise and reward the use of innovation as a means of boosting growth and profitability and employment.
The joint winners of the prestigious Merseyside 2004 Innovation Award are Neat3D, a world specialist in image based 3d modelling technology and Lateral Visions, a leading developer of interactive 3d engine technology.
They received a cash prize £10,000 and £4000 worth of consultancy services. The awards ceremony, hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside's Linda McDermott was attended by 150 leading figures from Merseyside's business community and was held at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza Hotel .
The judges for the final were, Dr Sarah Tasker, chief executive of Liverpool Science Park, Dave Wood of Parity Computers Limited and Professor Peter Fowler, chairman of Digital Industries North West.
Amatica provides the wireless e-voting system, which was successfully piloted at last year's awards. Amatica has designed a touchscreen enabled voting system that is installed on interactive kiosk terminals.
These kiosks are placed around the hall for lowed attendees to cast their own votes. Results were updated and shown live on the display screen at the front of the hall.
