Since going live in January 2003, Birmingham Midshires' online intermediary service has been an outstanding hit. Its success has turned BM Solutions online business into a multi-£bn operation and has boosted Birmingham Midshires into the number one position in specialist mortgage lending.

Amatica has brought specialist skills in interface design, usability and web server optimisation to the online service. Speed of service is critical to BM Solutions business model where the decision to lend is turned around in minutes rather than days or weeks that conventional mortgage broking systems can take.

Further endorsement of BM Solutions' success has come in the form of an award for best online mortgage service for brokers from the industry's Mortgage Magazine.

Commenting on Amatica's participation in the BM Solutions' project, Birmingham Midshires' head of e-Commerce and governance, Mia Hughes said "The speed and volume of business throughput is immense. Amatica have used their interface design and server performance skills to outstanding effect. Amatica's contribution has enabled us to concentrate on getting the backoffice processes right".

In addition to providing an online service to independent financial advisors, BM Solutions is also available to Halifax staff located within the Halifax high street branch network.
