NHS Direct kiosks reach 1.5 million users per annum
NHS Direct has confirmed its commitment to its Kiosk Information Point project. A recent review by NHS Direct and Amatica to evaluate the project's success has shown that the kiosks are used by over 1.5 million users a year. Service availability for the kiosks has continued to average 98%.
With 1.5 million users, NHS Direct are keen to revitalise the kiosk content and align it more closely with the online website. More frequent updates of the kiosk content will be undertaken by Amatica. Other changes include revisions to the kiosk refurbishment and re-deloyment schedule as well as more streamlined management reporting.
The NHS Direct Kiosk Information Point project was initiated in July 2000 with the first kiosks being installed in September 2000. In total, there are 183 NHS Direct kiosks installed at independent pharmacies, NHS Walk In Centres, supermarkets and libraries.
Amatica provides a fully managed service for NHS Direct which includes project management, kiosk design, installation, co-ordination of site owners and other third parties as well as remote monitoring, content management and updating and kiosk hardware support and maintenance.
