Bolton Information Network upgrade community access kiosks

Bolton Information Network, an initiative managed by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council have upgraded a number of kiosks used for delivering community information via the Internet.

Existing kiosks used by the Bolton Information Network since 1999 have become due for replacement and are no longer Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant.

The new kiosk systems are located in citizen advice bureaux and learning centres and are used to provide information to the local community.

The kiosk package includes secure kiosk Internet browser as well as wireless network connection. Maintenance and support for the kiosks is being provided by Action MultiMedia.

Action MultiMedia was awarded the original contract to provide the original Bolton Information Network kiosk systems in 1999 under an open invitation to tender.

Action MultiMedia now operates under the trading name of Amatica.
