Nurock cements Merseyside innovation award

Knowsley based Nurock's innovative hydraulic concrete mixing system has today been crowned the winner of the 2011 Merseyside Innovation Awards.

Nurock will receive a prize package worth £14,000, including a £10,000 cash prize and £4,000 worth of legal, business, accounting or design consultancy, as well as publicity for their product.

This year’s panel of judges included Ian Meadows, the chairman of RS Clare; Evolution’s Jed Ashforth; and former Merseyside Innovation Awards winner Jobey Marlowe.

Learn about Finance were winners of the audience vote for their product Keep the Cash! Fellow finalists were Weir and Carmichael, with their re-usable protective packaging and Human Recognition Systems their product MFlow, a people flow management and analysis system.

Brian McCann, chairman of the sponsor panel and founder of Vanguard Corporate Finance, said: "The awards have shown what a fertile breeding ground we have on Merseyside for new business ideas."
