University Find-a-PC service improves student access to IT lab facilities

Amatica has enhanced the kiosk based self-service facilities for students at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Hollings Faculty.

The ‘Find-a-PC’ facility enables students to check the availability of PC’s in the faculty’s two computer labs throughout the day. With more than 3000 students on campus, the labs are in constant demand. Using the kiosks’ self- service facilities, students can check availability and avoid the frustration of queuing at busy times.

This latest enhancement is part of an on-going programme to improve student services by delivering self-service through the network of student support kiosks. Supplied and managed by Amatica, the self-service kiosks enable students at the Hollings Campus to access information and advice on topics such as finance, courses and placements, as well as the new ‘Find-a-PC’ service.

MMU’s kiosks have attracted a great deal of interest from many other universities and colleges across the UK who are looking to improve their own student services.
