Merseyside Police secures Amatica for web services

Merseyside Police have commissioned a range of web services from online specialists Amatica. The services include advice on hosting, internet security and resilience as well as the delivery of web applications.

As well as auditing Amatica’s technical infrastructure and technical services administration procedures, another key requirement of Merseyside Police was to vet Amatica’s key staff and management team who would be delivering the service.

Jayne Pugh, head of communication and marketing at Merseyside Police said “For my organisation, vetting key suppliers is an important requirement of the procurement process, but some companies regard the vetting process as an unnecessary intrusion. Amatica understood the need for vetting and were very positive about the whole process.”

Commenting on these requirements of Merseyside Police, David Roberts Amatica's marketing director said "We’re visited regularly by the IT security experts from retail banks and financial services organisations to vet our technical infrastructure although this is the first time that staff vetting has been a requirement for many years. However, we see it as a positive statement and no one at Amatica saw the vetting as intrusive or unreasonable."

Amatica is used by the public sector including local government, health and universities as well as financial services organisations for the design and development of online customer service and kiosk based self-service solutions and managed hosting.

We threw a great many challenges their way and their response was fantastic. One of my easiest decisions was to commission Amatica to create the Sagis LLP website
