It is with the greatest sadness that we learnt that our friend and colleague Fiona O'Brien (nee Murphy) passed away.

Fiona joined Amatica's software development team in May 2003 where she used her programming skills on the development of web solutions for Amatica's customers.

She worked on a great many projects including those for North Huyton New Deal for Communities, Bank of Scotland International's intranet, Birmingham Midshires and BM Solutions as well as Absolute Return Capital Management's web-based portfolio reporting service.

Fiona's sense of humour, typically Scouse, kept us entertained and her sense of fun meant that she took the initiative when choosing venues for our social events and getting us organised.

Above all, Fiona was a partner to Peter and mother to her two young girls and it is also they who our thoughts and prayers are turned towards.

Fiona was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and finally succumbed to it in November this year.
