New Kingcombe website raises bookings and revenue

Kingcombe Environmental Studies Centre’s new website, developed and hosted by Amatica, has shown a significant increase in visitors and revenue from its new online reservations system since its launch in early December.

Previously, without an efficient content management system, the Centre could not always guarantee availability of courses advertised on the website. However, by integrating Amatica's events publishing and online reservations facilities into the site, new courses can be published quickly, while availability is updated as soon as a reservation is submitted via the website.

Amatica also implemented a new design and navigation structure for the website, which is complemented by stunning images of the local area, provided by local photographer, Colin Varndell. Together with the online reservations system, the new site now offers a far more engaging visitor experience, while enabling the Kingcombe team to promote its range of educational courses more effectively.

Within the first month, bookings taken via the website averaged £2,500 a week. More than £15,000 worth of course bookings were received via the online reservations facility in the first two months of 2010 - a significant achievement.
