Councils renew commitment to kiosk self-service

In its recent 'Better Connected 2009' survey, SOCTIM highlights that self-service needs to be integrated more effectively with other customer service channels provided by councils.

SOCITM's research suggests that as many as a third of website enquiries fail, forcing customers to use other, more expensive channels such as one stop shops or call centres. For many councils, self service kiosks continue to provide a valuable and cost effective channel offering citizens more choice and easy access to information.

Kiosk users, including Stafford Borough Council, Hackney Homes and North East Derbyshire have again renewed their maintenance contracts with Amatica to ensure that this important information channel continues to provide a first class information service into 2010.

Amatica's fully managed service provides remote management and helpdesk facilities and continues to meet or exceed its 97% kiosk uptime target.
