Amatica delivers first project using Microsoft ASP.Net 3.5
Amatica has delivered it's first web systems project using Microsoft's ASP.Net 3.5 software development environment. The project, comprising user management and fund portfolio reporting for Hanseatic Assest Management has gone live. The move to ASP.Net 3.5 follows a period of evaluation to assess the impact of upgrading to from version 2.0 to 3.5.
"We're very cautious of introducing untried technologies into Amatica. It can often represent unnecessary risk and cost, both to Amatica's interests but also to our customers' interests." says Amatica's head of development Jenni Allen. "I've been around long enough to remember the upgrade debacle associated with moving systems from VisualBasic version 5 to version 6.
However, 3.5 has been widely well recieved and trials suggest it is proving to be a stable and mature environmentwith some significant functional and productivity advantages."
And as Jenni Allen points out, it's important to ensure that Amatica's software development base is in step with its customers' plans. "A number of Amatica's customers are considering the move from ASP.Net 2.0 to 3.5 and we want to ensure that we're in sync with them."
