Building on the success of Hackney's multilingual housing information kiosks, first installed in 2006, Hackney Homes is extending local community access to this vital service with an additional two external on-street kiosks. The council’s online choice based lettings service has seen continuing demand and the kiosks are essential to extending service availability.
 
Launched in March 2008, Amatica’s Expo kiosk (pictured above) is designed to withstand the rigours delivering on-street public access, with the enclosure and internal components resistant to weather and abuse. The kiosk is equipped with a rugged keyboard to enable users to complete online forms as well as a trackball to aid web navigation.
 
With competitive demand for certain types of housing, the decision to extend Hackney Homes’ online service in using the on-street kiosks enables local residents to access information and apply for housing beyond the opening hours of Hackney Homes' housing offices.
 
The kiosk system designed by Amatica for Hackney Homes provides access to Hackney Homes choice based letting service as well as advice, information and online services in 9 languages.
