University Hospital chooses kiosk solution for card-enabled online staff services
Action MultiMedia has delivered a kiosk-based solution to enable access to secure online Intranet services for staff at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust.
The system which comprises of security software developed by Action MultiMedia and a number of magnetic card controlled kiosks and thermal printers. The system provides staff with fast access to personnel and NHS information. The kiosk system is an ideal solution to extending online services to staff with limited or no PC access.
Action MultiMedia has integrated magnetic cards already in use by University Hospital Birmingham for controlling access to premises. The kiosk-based system is integrated with the trust's human resources system.
The system is University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust's response to fulfilling a Department of Health directive to provide health sector staff with Intranet and email access by 31st March 2003.
