Biotech company wins Merseyside Innovation Awards

In one of the closest fought finals in its 11 year history, Iota NanoSolutions beat off stiff competition to win the 2007 Merseyside Innovation Awards. The judges decided that the company's work in the field of nano-technology and the development of anti-malarial treatments made it a clear winner.

The three other finalists were The Gravity Cue, Burley Doors and The Medical Device Innovation.

It was the second award in the space of a few days for Iota NanoSolutions. The company was also named NorthWest Regional Development Agency Science and Technology Business of the Year at the Daily Post Regional Business Awards.

Brian McCann of Vanguard Accountants commented; "This year's Innovation Awards final proved to be one of the closest ever with the panel of judges going into extra time to decide upon a winner.  In the end Iota NanoSolutions were chosen - not least because of the enormous potential impact of their innovation. All the sponsors look forward to watching the progress of the four finalists over the coming year and thank everyone for taking part."

Amatica has sponsored the Merseyside Innovation Awards since 2002.
