Hackney upgrades kiosks with choice based letting and extra languages

Hackney Homes has upgraded its housing service kiosks with links to Hackney Choice, the council's choice based letting service. The kiosks have also been enhanced to support two additional languages, Bengali and Vietnamese. A total of seven languages, including English, are now supported by Hackney's housing information kiosks.

The kiosks are located in five of Hackney Homes' neighbourhood offices and are designed to enable and improve communication with Hackney's diverse ethnic mix, which includes communities whose first language is French, Somali, Chinese, Turkish, Bengali, Vietnamese as well as English.

Commenting on the development of Hackney Homes' kiosk project, Mark Sampey, Amatica's manager responsible for public sector services praised the initiative saying "Hackney Homes has a carefully thought out plan to meet the challenges of delivering social housing services to its ethnically rich and diverse communities. At Amatica, we're proud to participate in such a challenging project".
