September survey ranks Birmingham Midshires No. 1

Mortgage and savings specialist Birmingham Midshires consumer website has once again been ranked Number One in a league table of banks' and building societies' websites. The ranking, undertaken by specialists SiteMorse, continues the high rating of Birmingham Midshires' website www.askbm.co.uk since 2004.

The No 1 ranking of www.askbm.co.uk demonstrates the craft and attention to detail that Amatica continually uses to develop its customer websites and other online self service facilities.

David Roberts, Amatica's director of strategy is unimpressed by the quality of many online facilities.  "Many companies make spurious claims for their capability in developing robust and accessible websites. The reality is that most don't know what they're doing and certainly don't practice what they preach. Furthermore, many of the content management systems used by large organisations just make matters worse.

"Those companies with significant basic code errors and accessibility failings really should know better. It's equivalent to having the front entrance to their high street branch not working. It doesn't say much for the value they place on customer experience."
