Basildon extends internet access to residents

Following a successful pilot scheme, Basildon Council has commissioned 2 further kiosk installations from Amatica.

The original pilot scheme in 2003 saw 3 Archer kiosks installed in the council's offices. With integral keyboard and trackball, the kiosks allow residents to surf the net and access council services online.

With links to 4 websites, including the council's own, the kiosks are a valuable resource for local residents, improving access to information and services.

As part of the council's drive to extend online services and meet its e-government targets, more kiosks have been commissioned and will be placed in local community centres.
