Liverpool City chooses Kiosk Based Housing Solution from Action MultiMedia

Action MultiMedia's self-service solution provides live access to information on properties available to let from Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) in Liverpool.

This system permits customers to use kiosks located in the council's One Stop Shops to identify properties that suit their needs. The data is drawn live from existing sources on the council's Local Area Network. Administrators can maintain databases of available properties, thus removing the need to produce paper lists of properties, which can immediately be out of date once published.

The solution not only gives customers better access to information, it also avoids the need to queue at the One Stop Shop. This frees up the time of One Stop Shop advisors, who need not repeat the same information to many customers, and so can concentrate their efforts on those customers who require extra attention. Customers can also track properties that have been let and against what criteria they have been allocated.

"The system not only gives customers better access to information and avoids their need to queue at the One Stop Shop; it also frees up the time of One Stop Shop advisors. The latter need not repeat the same information to many customers, and can concentrate their efforts on those customers who need extra attention." commented Sheila Yates, Community One Stop Shop Area Manager for Speke, Garston and Dingle.

"This system has become an integral part of the services offered to our customers and is a simple, effective and popular example of e-government in action."

"Such is the interest in the system at Dingle One stop Shop that we hope to extend access to the system to other one stop shops and provide access via the Internet to the same information."

Action MultiMedia now operates under the trading name of Amatica.
