The Requirement

Maintaining business efficiency has inevitably reduced the number of staff Pilkington employs.

Pilkington's requirement was to find a cost effective system that captured and shared key processes and production techniques that would otherwise be lost when key members of staff leave.

The Solution

Amatica designed a knowledge management system that could capture and share this information on a global scale. The KnowledgeBase covers around 300 topics of information along with interactive and animated diagrams, illustrations and simulations, MPEG video, 3 dimensional and 360 degree environment models.

The Outcome

Collating this data together in one repository means that Pilkington can effectively protect its intellectual property. Key knowledge is not lost when employees move on and there is greater consistency in work practices through sharing information via the company's global intranet.
