Derbyshire Consortium

The Requirement

A consortium of 4 local authorities across Derbyshire and Staffordshire have partnered together to bring online information and services to residents across the region.

Kiosk Solutions - Serco - Online Council Services

The Solution

North East Derbyshire, South Derbyshire, Derbyshire Dales and Staffordshire Moorlands councils are spread over a wide rural area. For local residents, finding and accessing information and advice from their local council can be difficult, particularly for those living some distance from a local council office.

A network of 18 kiosks are located in highly visible and accessible public locations including libraries, leisure centres, a youth hostel, a foodstore, an information centre and a health centre.

Several kiosks are integrated with the councils' revenues and benefits systems, enabling members of the public to track progress of claims and payments and make service requests to the council.

Working in conjunction with Serco and the councils' revenues and benefits system supplier, Anite, Amatica managed the supply and installation of the kiosk network and designed an intuitive kiosk interface to Anite's Pericles system that will allow residents to check the status of their account via the kiosks.

A customised, branded interface and attract sequence was designed for each council, and the kiosks themselves are customised to reflect each council's own brand identity. Kiosks are also equipped with a printer.

The Outcome

The rollout of the network of kiosks enables residents even in the most remote areas of rural Derbyshire and Staffordshire to access council services online.

We’ve been delighted with the products and level of service we’ve received from Amatica.
